Studies have shown that eating more fruits and vegetables decreases the chance that a person with psoriasis will suffer additional inflammations. Eating some of the healthier varieties of fish (such as salmon) has also been proven to decrease the risk of psoriasis bearing its ugly head. This points to the general rule that, the healthier you are, the better equipped you body will be to fight off all diseases in general (including psoriasis). This might also be called “common sense medicine.”
Eating tons of bloody red meat with melted cheese on top, washed down with a chocolate milkshake is not healthy. Smoking, drinking excessively and not sleeping is also unhealthy. Overtime this will not only drag down your system on the days you are hung over, it will hinder you all day every day as your bodily systems become increasingly bogged down and unhealthy.
Imagine clean food fueling your system. Picture yourself drinking more water and less soda. Consider how much happier your immune system will function thanks to lighter, easier to digest, cleaner food. The happier your immune system is, the better it work. The happier your body is, the better equipped it will be to keep that pesky psoriasis at bay.
