The ingredient that sets this particular T-Gel (Stubborn Itch Control) apart from the standard Extra Strength T-Gel is Menthol — and what a difference this extra ingredient makes!  Menthol is like a cough drop for my burning scalp.

T-Gel Stubborn Itch Control (with Menthol) is by far my favorite T-Gel since it is the most effective at suppressing my itchy psoriasis. The active ingredient is still coal tar (actually Neutrogena’s own concoction, called Neutar), but the menthol delivers immediate relief.

As per the warnings on the side of the bottle, if you are using this product, be careful to avoid excessive exposure to sunlight or man-made UV rays.  I believe this applies to all of the coal tar based T-Gels.
