Psoriasis is the result of your immune system attacking your own body. In seeking treatment, one should not discount the possibility that they may be suffering from a hidden, undiagnosed immune system disease such as Celiac, in which case psoriasis is nothing more than one out of a possible plethora of other symptoms. The only effective treatment for Celiac is a diet totally free of wheat gluten, and additional nutritional supplements. I am not a doctor, however having suffered massive outbreaks of plaque psoriasis since the age of six, I am finally clear at the age of 56 after starting a gluten-free diet a few years ago. Have your doctor do a blood test for Celiac BEFORE you start a gluten free diet, or the test will come back false-negative, but even if the result is negative, you have absolutely nothing to lose by giving it a try.
